Something was definitely in the water about 8-12 months ago… because this has been a great summer for newborn photos!! August in particular has been the month of the baby girl for me (take a look, here and here!), and I am LOVING it!! This time I got to travel through North Georgia a bit for another lifestyle newborn + family photography session, and got to meet the most recent, incredibly adorable, teeny tiny member of my summer baby club – sweet Emilia! Bright eyed and beautiful, this baby girl was SO ready for her closeup!! She is the most recent addition to an extended family who are first of all, wonderful, but also all super special to me (and have been for a long time now – she’s related to the people in this post and to another member of the summer baby club)!! So naturally, here was my reaction when her mama texted me some FRESH baby photos and asked about a newborn session…

Emilia and her parents had me over to their beautiful home in Decatur, Georgia just south of Atlanta, where we caught up and reminisced about my previous work in the very same neighborhood (ten years ago, but also with their family) – oh, and took some newborn and family of THREE photos!! Little Emmy is coming into an incredible family! I know they are all so thrilled to welcome her and I’ll tell ya girl, you are lucky to have them!! Did I mention these people are some of my favorites?? Katherine and Andrew, plus their whole family, and they have a tribe. I’m so honored to have gotten to be part of so many special memories with this crew!!

That parents photo above is the look of I’ve been waiting for you… Miss Em, your parents are just head over heels for you and it shows!! I would have expected no less from this sweet couple, having seen Katherine and Andrew together for many years, but I also received a couple of tear-jerker quotes from Katherine before our session – keep reading for my favorites!

This session was such a pleasure to be a part of!! Emmy Lou, you should know – you’re the best thing your parents have ever seen! And your mama is absolutely correct that babies don’t keep (makes me tear up EVERY time). With that in mind, here are some little pieces of you in this very beginning stage of your life, in photos that will keep.
