Every newborn session is special, every single one! But this one was for my best friend, who has been my best friend since I was FIVE years old. I won’t tell you how old we all are now but let’s just say we’ve been friends for a LONG time!! Oh. Em. Gee. Look at that baby!!! Sweet baby Ettie, welcome to the world!!! We are SO glad to have you!! Look at her hair!!! Sooo soft, so sweet, so perfectly styled! That little bitty nose in profile, a little ear peeking out, and a hint of the classic adorable baby stretch. You. Are. Perfect. Her mama, Robyn, called Ettie “my tiny baby” when she sent me her first few photos and my exact reaction is below…

Ettie came in early August, just a bit early but at just the right time! Having been privileged to hear lots about this girl even prior to her birth, I would say she’s been ready to join her family for quite some time!! We’ve been ready for you too, baby girl!!!

Those eyes, the cheeks, that hair… GURL you are working the camera already!!!

Meet miss Ettie! Sweet baby girl with the sweetest names

So, Robyn and I met when her mom was my kindergarten teacher, and this precious baby girl is named after that same kindergarten teacher!! Actually, she is named after BOTH of her grandmothers, both of whom I have known most of my life! They are truly special ladies – educators, matriarchs, Christ followers – baby Ettie, with names like yours, your path has been wonderfully paved already!!!

The blanket in these next few photos was made by the very same grandmother, known as Mum Mum to her very lucky crew of grandkids! Teeny baby toes, sweet newborn skin, wrapped up in love in every possible way. I’m not tearing up… you are…

What a family there!! That, my friends, is a genuine moment (Caleb, thanks for setting up this perfect shot with a hilarious comment!!). Laughing together and grabbing some snuggles at the same time, this is SO why you get the camera out!!! I am a sucker for the miniature baby details (see the toes above!!), and I LOVE these real-life moments shots too! Getting both in a single gallery, that’s pretty priceless. So, so, so thrilled and honored I got to be part of this. Best job ever.

Miss Clara, the Mask’s first baby girl is now a big sister! I was SO thrilled at how this little miss warmed right up to me during the session, she even taught me a few words of Tagalog!! Sweet Clara, you could not be more beautiful. Keep smiling, and keep loving on that new baby sister!! She will be so lucky to have you right in front of her throughout life, and there’s a good chance she’ll keep you on your toes! Little sisters keep life interesting, if you need any big sister advice – you just call me sweet girl!

Robyn and Caleb, thank you so much for having me over and for letting me in on preserving these special newborn, family of four memories!!! Your girls are growing up in such a wonderful family and home, full of love and light – which made it the perfect place for photos too! Beautiful with a super calm vibe, just like the people who live there!

The signs on the walls in at home photos always get me – they always seem to be so perfect for the session!!
